PERFORMTECH 2008 SET TO BE A PHENOMENAL SHOW

31 January 2008

PerformTech, Scotland’s premier show for sound, light, stage and AV technologies, has secured numerous prestigious exhibitors for its inaugural event.

The event is collaboration between Black Light, Northern Light and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

The exhibition, to be held on 28th and 29th May 2008 at the RSAMD in Glasgow, has secured the cream of the industry’s manufacturers and suppliers – ensuring that visitors will be able to view the very latest in technology.

Companies such as Christie Digital, Doughty Engineering, ETC, Hall Stage, Le Maitre, Lift Turn Move, MA Lighting, MGC, Selecon, Strand, Triple E and Zero 88 will all be displaying their wares.

Gavin Stewart, Managing Director at Black Light, said:  “Our plans for PerformTech really are coming on at quite a pace.  The majority of industry players will be represented and will enable our visitors to view equipment that provides lighting control and effects, pyrotechnics, audio control and kit, projection, rigging, hoists, paints, gobos and much more.  I’m really pleased that we’re the catalyst for bringing all these suppliers under one roof, and all for the good of our customers.”

Registration is now open for visitors to the exhibition and the partners are expecting a diverse range of guests.

Colin Cuthbert, Managing Director at Northern Light, commented:  “This event really does encompass everything to do with performance.  Whether you are putting on a show, an event, a conference or a wedding, or if you just need to update your knowledge of what is available in the entertainment technology market, PerformTech is the place to be.”

Attendees will include students, graduates, theatre technicians, events companies, amateur groups and venue managers.  They will be able to see and touch lanterns, lighting desks, audio equipment, visual effects, rigging and much more.

David Ripley, a lecturer in the Technical and Productions Arts Programme at the RSAMD, concluded:  “RSAMD is delighted to be hosting this event.  We’ll be incorporating the TPA Graduate show into the two days, enabling our students to present their work to a larger audience and giving them the opportunity to meet all the suppliers who will feature throughout their careers.”

Parties interested in attending this exhibition should register by emailing visit08@performtech.org.uk
