Head of Hire & Events
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen as a result of Northern Light’s business growth planning and we require the appointment of an exceptional individual to take on the strategic management of our hire and events departments.
 
You will responsible for the strategic direction of the team and will be expected to plan and implement a strategy to take this area of the business forward. The post will involve forward planning, creating, implementing and managing new processes, ensuring a smooth transition into new working practices, leading a team of around ten people and delivering tangible results.
 
The successful applicant will be a confident individual of graduate calibre with a proven track record in change management, who will be able to command respect and assert themselves.   A positive attitude, excellent communication skills and an ability to build strong relationships will also be essential to this post.
Project Sales Manager
 
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our sales team. Working throughout England, the successful candidate will be responsible for bringing in project sales, mainly in the education sector. This will include identifying potential projects, making contact with the appropriate person, getting the order, overseeing the project to completion and cross selling other Northern Light services at project end.
 
The successful individual will be a professional sales person and will have experience of either the construction or theatre industry.
 
Travel will be frequent and a driving licence is essential to this post, as is the ability to provide excellent customer service.
 
An excellent financial package is available for the right applicant.
 
 
Retail Sales Co-ordinator
 
Northern Light are expanding the team responsible for the sale of boxed goods and we are looking for a tenacious individual with a working knowledge of entertainment equipment. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Retail and will be responsible for taking and processing orders, developing key accounts, cold and warm calling to new customers and ensuring financial management and reporting is in line with company policy. Working knowledge of Sage financial software would be advantageous.
 
 
Time-Served Electricians
 
Northern Light installs specialist light, sound and stage systems across the UK in venues including theatres, schools, colleges and public buildings. We have an urgent requirement for time served electricians to work on our specialist installation projects across the UK. Northern Light’s electricians work away from home for the majority of the time, and are provided with accommodation and two meals per day.
 
A flexible attitude, the ability to perform well to challenging deadlines and a current driving licence will all be essential to these posts. Overtime will also be a necessary part of the job.


Temporary AV Technicians
 
Northern Light is looking for temporary AV technicians to join our busy Project Installation team.  To be successful you will have an active interest in audio and lighting technology, a driving licence and possess a keen interest in learning new skills.  You will be happy to work as part of a team or by yourself, in a variety of locations sometimes during unusual hours. Whilst the ability to solder would be an advantage, it is not essential.
 
Based in Edinburgh, the job will incorporate work for theatres, education establishments and recording studios and successful candidates may be expected to work away from Edinburgh for several weeks at a time.

Sales Support Administrator
 
We have a requirement for an experienced administrator to support our key sales staff in England. The role will be mainly based around sales to the education sector and will involve a full administrative service, plus proactive telesales. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of the theatre and entertainment industry and will possess excellent written and spoken communication skills. Additional administrative support to our full team of field sales staff may also be required.
